Employment Resources

The library has trained staff to provide services such as resumes help, job searching, assistance with job applications, and training in new skills. They also have numerous adult education classes (language, GED, computer skills, etc.) and can connect you with other organizations and schools to further your education. The library offers free access to Lynda.com with a library card. This website offers a variety of online videos to help you learn new things in the areas of business, software, technology, and creative skills. Ohio Means Jobs

Ohio Means Jobs is the State of Ohio’s most comprehensive job and career search program. You can search jobs online, find Aspire programs to help adults gain education and employment, and view career services for a number of occupations. You can also visit Franklin County’s job center by calling (614) 559-5052 or emailing info@omjcfc.org  for assistance with your resume, accessing further education, job searching, etc.

Way2Work                                          

WARM’s Way2Work program provides support, materials, and personal coaching to advance your employment journey.  They provide virtual assistance, self-guided development activities, events, and in-person meetings (when possible). Call 614.899.0196 ext 231 or email David@warmwesterville.org for more information. Columbus State Community College

CSCC is located just about 20 minutes from New Albany and offers a wide range of college-level programs for students pursuing a two-year associates degree or looking to transfer to a four-year college after finishing their general education requirements. Students can attend part-time or full-time and tuition is relatively affordable. Columbus City Schools Department of Adult and Community Education

For over 60 years, the Columbus City Schools Department of Adult and Community Education has been committed to providing programs for lifelong learning. Adult Workforce Education courses can be taken in health occupations, skilled trades, and computer applications. You can prepare to earn your high school equivalency by attending free classes, and foreign born adults can learn to read, write, and speak English in their English for Speakers of Other Languages program. Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services

ETSS works with low income individuals and families from over 60 countries to assist them on their journey to self-sufficiency and independence in Central Ohio. Educational help, case management resources, and job services are among the programs offered through the agency. Godman Guild Association

The Godman Guild provides a variety of services through their employment services and youth programming departments each year that seeks to support participants in advancing their economic and social mobility. Eastland-Fairfield Career and Technical School

The Career and Technical School offers training to become a Police Officer, dental assistant, HVAC technician, and Medical Assistant. They also offer training in the areas of cybersecurity, and GED test prep. They also provide free English Language classes to adults not on F1 visas. Jewish Family Services

JFS is a Central Ohio human service agency founded in 1908. Their mission is to help individuals and families achieve economic self-sufficiency and emotional stability. They offer job seeker services and training for those at or below 250% of the federal poverty line (you don’t have to be Jewish). New Horizons Computer Learning Center

New Horizons provides technical and business skills through online courses and certifications, in the areas of cybersecurity and technology. These classes do cost money, but there is financial aid available. Call 614-798-1000 or email sales.columbus@newhorizons.com for more information.

Delaware Area Career Center

Delaware Area Career Center (DACC) provides free classes for adults, including technical training in welding, computer skills, public safety careers, advocational training and more.
