June - August

Many NAPLS students receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch each day they are at school. When school lets out for summer, these students are no long receiving lunch at school each day, and it is challenging for many of our families to afford to replace these meals for their children. We try to help ease this burden on families by providing them with breakfast and lunch foods for their children each week while school is out of session.

Kid-friendly food items are delivered to families’ front porches every Sunday over the summer. No one needs to be home to receive the delivery. Each weekly delivery includes breakfast and lunch items for the week.

Whenever possible, we try to add a fun snack activity like "Gummy Worm Pudding Cups" or "Make-Your-Own Tasty Trail Mix”. We also send home book bags (courtesy of the Read to Succeed Foundation) or other learning activities several times each summer. Near the end of the summer, we run a school supply drive to provide pantry families and summer meals participants with school supplies as their children return to school.
